60 mph in 6th gear is pointless. My experience is that 4th is fine at this speed, 5th is acceptable, but by a slim margin. Remember, these bikes will hit redline at around 90+ mph in first gear. At 60 mph in 6th, the bike is almost coasting! This creates a lot of slop, lurching, and jerking throughout the gear train.
The first and second gens ZX10's did not have a top speed limiter, but the 3rd gen does. The 3rd gen limiter is easy to bypass. Also some Suzukis have it. I cant say for a fact the S1000RR has it, but looking at 1 Arm Bandits incredible video, it sure looks like it is limited to 13200 in 6th gear.

The only option available on the S1000RR will be the Alarm System, priced at $265.
I'm going to attach screenshots below to explain how this stuff works. The Bosch ECU used on the S1000RR is *extremely* advanced, well developed and well thought out. On top of that, the S1000RR uses a fly by wire system attached to a 14,000+ rpm engine making north of 200hp/liter at the crankshaft. This is not the BMW 325ci you got after college.
